1st May

  • Jonathan left Munich at 8.35 p.m.

2nd May

  • Jonathan  arrived at Vienna at 7.46 a.m.
  • Jonathan left Vienna
  • Jonathan arrived at Klausenburgh before nightfall.
  • Jonathan stopped at Hotel Royale for the night.

3rd May

  • Jonathan visited British Museum at disposal in London to look up to books and maps in library regarding Transylvania.
  • Jonathan did not sleep well in the night as he had sort of queer dreams
  • He was awakened by continuous knocking of door.
  • He rushes to train as it started a little before eight.
  • He reaches to carriage at 7.30 and waited for more than an hour before the train began to move.
  • He felt that the more east they went, the more unpunctual are the trains.
  • The train reaches Bistriz on the dark side of twilight.
  • Count Dracula had directed him to go to the Golden Krone Hotel for the night.
  • He received a letter telling him that the Dracula’s coach will meet him at the Borgo Pass the next day
  • Landlord received letter from Count.

4th May

  • People murmured about him.
  • An old lady made excuses that he should not go but he told he he was engaged in an important business and ignored her word of advice.
  • She offered him her crucifix as a symbol of protection.

5th May – Castle

  • He took the Coach to the Borgo pass.
  • The Dracula’s coachman arrived and brought him to the castle.
  • The coach man had sharp teeth and eyes which seemed red in the lamplight.
  • The coach man had the strength of steel as observed by Jonathan.
  • Jonathan felt that the carriage is circling over the same grounds again and again.
  • The wolves howled and the driver soothed the horses and continued journey.
  • The wolves began to howl again after a while.
  • The coach man got down the carriage and whispered something to the horses, which quieted them.
  • He reached the castle shortly after.

5th May

  • Count Dracula bid him welcome to its home.
  • Jonathan had his supper then went to his room.

7th May

  • He had his breakfast.
  • He found out that no servents were present.
  • He went to the Library.
  • Dracula came a little while later.
  • Both of them talked about the business and about some mysterious things.
  • The supper was prepared when Dracula went out.

8th May

  • He accidentally cut himself with a razor and the Dracula attemped to suck the blood but touched the crucifix on Jonathan.
  • Dracula threw the mirror outside of the window as he claims it had done mischief.
  • After breakfast, Jonathan went to explore and found that he was held prisoner in the Castle. 

8th May - Midnight

  • Jonathan talked to the Dracula about Transylvanian History.
  • Jonathan was careful not to arouse suspicion of knowing that he was imprisoned.

12th May

  • The Dracula talks to Jonathan about the business.
  • After that, the Count asks Jonathan to write letters to his friends saying that he would be staying with Dracula for a month from that time.
  • The Count then stamps its letters and went out to post the letters.

12th May – Later

  • Jonathan Harker went to his room for a while to make sure the Count is off.
  • Jonathan Harker went to the stone stair and looked out.
  • Seeing that the Count was climbing down the wall, Jonathan Harker was terrified.

14th May

  • It was once more he saw the Count climb out of its Tower in the Lizard – fashion.
  • Jonathan Harker explored more than he did, after knowing that the Count is not in the Castle.
  • He explored and to his amazement, there was a great precipice.

15th May – Midnight

  • He explored the castle and hid there to wrote his journal entry.
  • After writing his journal entry, he felt tired and slept there.
  • He was not sure whether he was asleep or not as opposite him was three ghostly ladies in the moonlight but they cast no shadows on the floor.
  • One of the Ladies attempted to suck his blood when the Count arrived just in time to stop them.
  • The Count passed a bag with a human being in it to the ladies and at the sight of that, I fainted.

16th May

  • Jonathan was carried by the Count to his room and was being undressed and changed to another shirt.

18th May

  • When Jonathan tried to get to that particular room again, he found that it was locked.

18th May – Night

  • The Count had asked Jonathan to write three letters, one is that the work was nearly done and that he should start home in the next few days. Another was that he was starting on the next morning from the time of the letter and the last one was that He had left the castle and arrived at Bistriz.
  • The count told him the dates of the letters and asked him to write on it.

28th May

  • Band of Szgany (Gypsies) arrived and and encamped themselves at the courtyard.
  • Jonathan decided to write home, to Mina’s in shorthand, and asked Mr. Hawkins to communicate with Mina.
  • He threw the letters with a gold piece and make signs to have them posted.
  • Later, the Count came and said that the Szgany had given the two letters to him.
  • The Count burned the letter to Mina as it is written in Language the Count did not know.

31st May

  • When Jonathan woke up, he was shocked that every scrap of paper and envelopes were gone.
  • His travel suit gone, overcoat and rug gone and even his papers were gone.

17th June

  • That morning, two great leiter-waggons, drawn by eight sturdy horses and at the head of each pair, there is a Slovak.
  • Jonathan thought he could go down and join them but to his dismay, his door was fastened on the outside.
  • Jonathan ran to window and cried for attention but they only pointed stupidly and laughed at him.
  • On the leiter-waggons, the Slovaks unloaded the boxes of ropes and were given some money before riding away.

23rd June – Night

  • The Count left the Castle in Jonathan’s travel suit and slung the bag which the three ghostly women take away.
  • After a long time, low, piteous howling of dogs started somewhere far below in the valley. Jonathan was hypnotized and was struggling to be awake.
  • In the moonbeams appeared the three ghostly women and Jonathan fled back to his room where there is no moonlight.
  • In a couple of hours, Jonathan heard something stirring in the Count’s room .
  • There was a woman beating the doors of the castle shouting for Dracula to return the human baby.
  • Unknowingly, the woman was bitten by the pack of wolves Dracula ordered and it ended.

25th June

  • Jonathan thought of climbing out of his window and going in through the Count’s so he can reach into the Count’s room.

25th June – Later

  • Jonathan managed to get back after going into the Count’s room.
  • Jonathan went though the many doors and managed to get to the Coffin where the Count slept.

29th June

  • This was the last day of Jonathan’s letter.
  • Jonathan saw Dracula clad in his clothes to the town to prove the letter was genuine.
  • Later, Count told Jonathan that he must go tomorrow but Jonathan insisted that he should go that night.
  • Upon reaching the big doors, howling of wolves could be heard and Jonathan refused to go then.

30th June

  • Jonathan tried to unlock the massive giant doors but to no avail.
  • Jonathan then went to the Count’s room to find the key for the giant door.
  • Jonathan searches for the keys but to no avail.
  • The Szghany went to the rooms to lock the doors before leaving the castle to other places.
  • Now, Jonathan was left with those ghostly women who are devils of the pit.
  • Then, Jonathan will attempt to scale the castle and get some gold before finding a way to get from the dreadful place.
